Why Learn English?

Why learn English? This is a question you might be asking if you’re just starting your journey with learning the language, or if you’ve reached a plateau and you’re having some difficulty progressing with the language.

Really, it’s similar to asking, “Why learn any language?”

1. Language connects people.

Language enables communication and brings people together. By learning a language, such as English, you’re able to speak with more people and be understood.

2. Language is largely shaped by culture. Phrases, sayings, or expressions are influenced by culture and may not be understood accurately without background information. By learning a new language, you start a journey of learning about a culture.

3. Learning a language is fun!

Can it be exhausting? Yes! But, that is how it goes with any good game 🙂 In the end, our goal is typically to master the game, complete all the levels, and be proficient. It’s the same with a language!

4. There are so many funny moments!

Don’t be embarrassed to try to speak in a different language. Instead be excited about all the funny stories you’ll be able to share about the language mistakes you’ve made. Also, there are plenty of funny moments that come from learning about greetings and salutations that differ from what you’re used to. Get ready to laugh and have a good time!

5. You’ll have a feeling of accomplishment and confidence.

Whether you have or haven’t become fluent in the language of your choice, you can feel confident knowing that what you have currently learned took hard work and effort, which you put in!

So, hopefully these thoughts will motivate you to learn English (or another language!). If you’ve reached a plateau, don’t give up! Remember why you started learning the language and your journey. Take a trip down memory lane 😃💕 You’ve put in a lot of time and energy. Don’t stop!
